**Reports to Local Recruitment Officer/ Head of Academy Recruitment**

**Location**:
You will primarily attend other match venues such as other grassroots or professional Clubs, multi-purpose sports venues or public recreation grounds. However, may also be required to travel to Playford Road Training Centre, Portman Road, and other Ipswich Town Football Club (“the Club”) sites.

**Purpose of the Role**:
To assist with the long-term vision of Ipswich Town Football Club in identifying and recruiting the most talented young players for the Club. This involves the implementation of identification, recruitment and scouting strategies for the Academy across the Player Performance Pathway of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) under the Head of Academy Recruitment, whilst striving to identify and recruit the most talented young players available in adherence with the Player Profiles the Club is seeking to recruit.

This role focuses on all academy/pre-academy age groups U7-U16's.

**Key Tasks /Responsibilities**

1. Identification and recruitment of players across the Player Performance Pathway in adherence with Club Players Profiles.

2. Be proactive in sourcing information about upcoming games, festivals, tournaments & events across designated catchment areas.

3. Develop and build positive, working relationships with local non-Academy football teams.

4. Liaise with local non-Academy football teams to organise games with selected Academy Centres. (When requested).

5. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of non-Academy players and ensure players are logged using the department’s central database tracking system.

8. Ensure Scouting Policy and Protocol is adhered to when attending games. Including scout permissions to attend fixtures & approaches for identified players.

9. Cover all target age group leagues and teams for the duration of the required period.

10. Meet player recruitment targets set by the Head of Academy Recruitment.

11.Administration as required, including information for payroll.

12. Monitor and liaise with the Lead Recruitment Officer of the area.

13. Attend all Academy Scouts CPD events and academy scouts meetings when requested by Head of Academy recruitment or relevant recruitment leads.

14. Attend all fixtures and if unable to scout then inform senior lead / operations staff at the earliest opportunity.

- A ‘people person’ with excellent communication skills
- Possess experience and knowledge of the radius of Suffolk and surrounding areas.
- Experience working within Talent Identification
- Computer literate
- Able to drive

**Required licence or certification**:

- Full driving license

- FA Talent Identification Level 2
- UEFA B License
- FA Youth Award
- FA Child Protection Certificate
- FA First Aid Certification

- Teaching and/or Business Qualification
- Degree/Masters/Postgraduate in Sports Sciences
