The post holder will sit within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team in the People Directorate.

This role includes liaising with parents or carers of children with special education needs and a wide range of partner organisations such as health and social care professionals, educational psychologists, specialist teachers and staff from schools and colleges. The post holder will play a fundamental role in supporting children, young people and families through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process and amendments to EHC plans following an annual review. This requires interpreting reports and advice and writing statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans that are high quality and fully compliant with the Children and Families Act.

The SEN Team is located at The Portal in Ellesmere Port, however the role will require the ability to travel across the borough of Cheshire West and Chester to attend meetings with children and families in their educational setting.
