To provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective administrative support to medical rota co-ordination. To work closely with key members of medical staff to enable these duties to be carried out.

To manage and co-ordinate on a day-to-day basis the Registrar, SHO and Consultant staff rotas.

The post holder will coordinate the day to day management of Surgery & Anesthetics staffing rotas, using clear communication, planning and organisational skills

The post holder is required to coordinate the SAS rota, together with the appropriate level of management and clinical staff and to ensure adequate coverage of service

They will act as a first point of contact for all clinical staff concerning annual leave, study leave, bank duties and sick leave, ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly.

Working on behalf of the Division of Surgery and Anaesthetics you will take a leading role in the compilation and day to day co-ordination/operational management of the Medical Staffing rotas.

You will provide a comprehensive administration and information service to the Directorates. You will need to ensure compliance with the EWTD and that medical staff are effectively deployed at all times.

The post holder must be competent in spreadsheets, word processing, keyboard skills, communication, organisational and negotiation skills. An ability to understand the need for and to maintain confidentiality is essential.

An essential part of the role is the ability to manage and prioritise own workload without direct supervision.
