**About the role**

**Learning Support Assistant - Part Time, Term Time**

Permanent, Part Time

£22,361 per annum, pro rata / £11.59 per hour

Location: Colchester

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

Starting as soon as possible, but likely to be February 2024 due to the recruitment and onboarding timescales, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning Support Team within ACL Essex at our Colchester centre.

ACL are graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018.

**The position is being offered on a Part Time (Sessional - paid per session) term-time only basis working at ACL Colchester.**

**Timetables to be discussed at Interview, Working between 3-5 days per week, Monday to Friday.**

**Currently we require at least 3 days per week and potentially up to 5 days per week. Term Time only**

**Hours are 4.5 hours per day between 9.30am - 3.15pm or 10am - 3pm / 3.15pm (unpaid lunch break). If 5 days it may be 3 full days plus 2 half days (half days being 2 hours 15 mins or 2 hours 30 mins).**

Please note, the latest timetable will be discussed in further detail at interview.

The salary will be £22,361 pa as a full time equivalent, pro rata for part time and term time and is equal to an hourly rate of £11.59 per hour. **This role is being offered as a sessional contract where you are paid per session worked.**

**Role Specifics**:

- To support tutors in their delivery of academic and vocational courses
- Support learners with challenging behaviour in an educational environment
- Support learners with special educational needs and disabilities (general class and 1:1 support)
- Provide pastoral support to learners within an educational setting
- To support adult learners with a wide range of difficulties and disability in classes across all curriculum areas.

**Requirements**:

- Experience of a Learning Support role with Adults/Children within an educational setting or classroom environment.
- English and Maths qualifications at NQF level 2/GCSE equivalent
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to high standards of achievement and behaviour.
- Have a flexible and supportive approach to changing demands.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
