**Please note: experience in ultrasonic / NDT is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.**
**Pay**
The starting range is £13.28 - £14.24 (dependant of qualifications). There is an additional 22% shift allowance. Upon completion of an in depth training plan and sign off from an external NDT Level III, your pay rate will increase to £19.76. Please note this training plan will run over a number of years.
**Shift Pattern/Working Hours**
Working the 15s shift pattern. The average working week is 44 hours, averaging 190.67 hours per month.
**Main Purpose of Job**
- Methodically work with a safe and conscientious approach, protecting yourself and others within the facility to ensure that your job requirements are met in an efficient and timely manner.
- Application of automated and semi-automated ultrasonic immersion techniques (and manual contact testing if required), on forged product, to test/inspect and report where necessary components using the correct procedure, specifications and documentation.
- Calibrate the equipment in accordance with the customers specification and internal Forged Solutions procedures.
- Maintain records of inspection within the parameters of the procedures and specifications.
- Interpretation of technical drawings & specifications to include the evaluation and documentation of inspection results.
- Assist in the successful completion of audit such as NADCAP & Customer Audits, BSI etc
- Assist in the training of other technicians in equipment and certification.
**Key Tasks and Accountabilities**:
Ÿ Always maintain and practice high standard of Health and Safety including the correct completion of H&S documentation including work permits, risk assessments, method statements etc.
Ÿ Ensure departmental housekeeping is maintained to a high standard and the 5s philosophy is driven.
Ÿ Methodically work with a safe and conscientious approach, protecting yourself and others within the facility to ensure that your job requirements are met in an efficient and timely manner.

**Experience**
Previous experience in ultrasonic inspection to level II certification on wrought products using immersion/ contact methods would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided in-house.
