CCN Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with the John Muir Trust, who are searching for talented individuals who would like to develop their career in a progressive conservation organisation. A unique opportunity has arisen for a GIS & Database Officer to join the Join Muir Trust team to coordinate collection, collation, geographic storage, and presentation of data. You will develop the Trust’s evidence base as it looks to develop its resources and expand its capacity to influence.

You will be able to demonstrate your experience in managing GIS, datasets and databases, processing and analysing data and delivering concise and accurate reports. If you have a strong understanding of the power of data and an ability to manage and use it, then this may be the position for you.

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Qualifications and or significant evidence of continued professional development relevant to the role purpose and level.
- Driver’s Licence is essential.

Experience
- GIS including Arc, ESRI, storymap etc.
- Excel, managing databases.
- Project management.
- Report writing.

Ability
- Think strategically and innovatively.
- Communicate confidently.
- Take initiative and take on responsibility.
- Work well with others as part of a team.
- Work flexible hours.
- Work remotely needing little supervision.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Design, develop and deliver a GIS system for the Trust.
- Develop and manage the Trust’s Wild Places Register.
- Manage land, biodiversity and data records though accessible GIS database.
- Produce reports and data summaries.
- Manage an archiving project of historic data.
- Be an active member of the Trust’s policy team.
- Any other duties as required and requested by the Policy Director.
