**Job Summary**:
We are currently recruiting for a full-time, 6-month fixed term Senior Payroll Associate. The role is mainly remote however, occasional travel to our established Finance Centre in Riccarton, Edinburgh is required. This role will be focused on EU payrolls with some assistance on UK payroll. As a highly acquisitive business, this is a very exciting time to join the business.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of monthly payroll for various Charles River Laboratories European payrolls in line with pre-determined reporting dates.
- Maintenance of salary records in line with local statutory and Company specific requirements.
- Processing salary in line with current legislation.
- Starter/leaver processing.
- Processing statutory and 3rd party declarations and payments.
- Processing of overtime details and preparation of overtime analysis.
- Auto-enrolment pension processing
- Processing the exercise of Employee Share Options through the monthly payroll.
- Distribution of payroll circulars to staff
- Lead in cross checking the work of peers to a high standard. Includes challenging & providing guidance around any incorrect, incomplete, or unclear work.
- Lead role in continual process improvement. Promoting a culture of value add, sleek processes. Challenging any process gaps or risks and implementing fixes.
- Preparation of process notes.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ad hoc payroll related requests and submissions.
- Responsible for larger and complex payrolls and payroll areas as determined by management.
- To ensure that all finance tasks are fulfilled to standards of quality and timing.
- Responsible for ensuring that a safe working environment is maintained for yourself and your colleagues by observing all safety procedures and working methods, by making proper use of protective clothing and equipment, and by reading, understanding and following all safety documents issued or notified to them.

**Requirements**:

- Language skills desirable
- Payroll qualifications desirable
- Experience of various European payrolls desirable

Salary depending on experience.
