**The Role**

The New Style of Information Technology (Deployed) (NSoIT(D)) programme is delivering the OpNET capability to the front line across all three FLCs to replace a range of legacy Operational Communication and Information Systems (OPCIS).

Navy Digital OPNET Training DLOD is to lead and manage the Interim and Steady State Training solutions for OpNET Black, Red and Blue on behalf of UKStratCOM. Primarily to ensure programme benefits are realised by the provision of a suitable training environment and trained personnel via the 'operate safely' argument.

**Tasking**

**Primary Purpose**:

- To Lead, Manage and Develop the OpNET Training Solutions on behalf of UKStratCOM to realise programme benefits as described at the Programme Full Business Case and Mandate.

**Secondary Purposes**:

- Chair OpNET Training Steering Group (TSG)
- Manage the Interim Training Solution (ITS) contract.
- Provide TDLOD SQEP at NSoIT programme level meetings

Act as the OpNET Joint Training Requirements Authority (TRA), collating the requirements from the FLC TRAs and managing the Training Acceptance against the agreed Training Requirements.

**Responsibilities**

Meetings:

- Chair the Training Support Group, providing a record of training Decisions agreed with the FLCs and Programme Directors.
- Attend the Capability Integration Working Groups for the LAND Environment Project (LEP) and Maritime Environment Project (LEP) and provide updates on Training Issues and Risks for escalation to the Programme Directors.
- Attend the OpNET Capability Acceptance Working Groups and provide updates on OpNET Training Issues and Risks that impact on Acceptance of the Capability.

Lead development of the OpNET Steady State Training solution, engaging with Training Organisations, FLCs, UKStratCOM and Industry as necessary and manage the handover of training responsibility from the ITS to the SST prior to the end of the ITS contract in Apr 23.

Chair OpNET Training Steering Group, reporting and escalating to OpNET CIWG and Pg Bds as required.

Ensure that the OpNET Training solution is DSAT (Defence System Approach to Training) compliant iaw JSP 822 (Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education).

Liaise with RAF No1 Radio School Communicate as OpNET Steady State Training (SST)location to ensure an effective handover of the SST solution.

Manage the support contract for the OpNET Interim Training Solution (ITS).

Oversee the outputs of the OpNET training booking clerk, providing feedback to the appropriate Line Manager(s).

Work with industry partner for sustainment of OpNET ITS and Steady State Training TNA (Training Needs Analysis).

Liaise with OpNET Programme, DLODs and Front Line Commands to ensure that the OpNET training needs are acknowledged and met.

Work with FLCs to ensure Career Course training meets the enabling requirements of OpNET training.

**Desirable Skills**
- PRINCE2/MSP/APM Qualified
- Experience of working with the FLC organisations
- Experience of working with the Defence Digital Organisation
- Working familiarity of MOD Financial Management and JSPs 462/507/655
- Ability to communicate effectively with Senior Officers and Civil Servants
- Working familiarity of JSP822/DSAT
- Effective use of Office 365 Tools
- Experience of managing projects in the MOD
- Working familiarity with Project Online Risk Management
- Working familiarity with DLIMS management
- Experience of working in a MOD Training Environment
- Experience of developing Training Requirements
- Experience of developing Training Documentation

**Role specifics**
- Base Location: Navy Command HQ / Hybrid working is achievable
- Rate: Dependant on experience and interview
- SC Clearance (essential)
- Maritime Knowledge (essential)
