**Key Accountabilities**:
1. Run the regular Cross Platform FinOps Working Group in order to promote cross cloud platform consistency and best practice as regards the deployment of cost and carbon optimised services

2. Identify structural sources of wastage, develop plans and obtain buy in and sponsorship for optimisation

3. Define, drive, track and report on identified structural cloud optimisation tactics and associated targets, with an objective to reducing cost

4. Define the strategy for platforms to deploy FinOps fit products

5. Produce and maintain guidance and criteria for the deployment of “FinOps Ready” cloud services for stakeholder workloads

6. Produce optimisation recommendation reports and present findings the at working groups and governance forums

7. Develop strategies and artefacts to enhance the transparency of shared cloud costs to the value streams and business

8. Collate, analyse and prioritise cloud optimisation recommendations and calculate potential savings and benefits

9. Coordinate with platform engineers to perform optimisation analysis and planning on the major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud, Clients Internal Cloud)

10. Work with value streams, platforms and the business, where appropriate, on architectural approaches to ensuring optimised consumption of cloud services

11. Articulate the benefits of the embedding of cost optimisation approaches and related initiatives to stakeholders and governance forums

12. Develop support tools and teaching aids to help value streams, platforms and the business, where appropriate, to understand their cloud spend patterns and areas for potential optimisation

13. Provide inputs into optimisation execution, benefits tracking and business case creation

14. Provide inputs into senior governance forums SBRs, ManCo, CEC, OpCo etc

**Knowledge**:
1. Excellent understanding of the major cloud providers’ product offerings and existing relationship with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud)

2. Excellent understanding and practical experience of the major cloud provider’s consumption and pricing options, cost principles and cost drivers

3. Good understanding and practical experience of Reserved Instances, Committed Use Discounts (CUDs), Savings Plans and any other optimisation proposals by all cloud providers

4. Understanding of best practices in order to maintain and lead levels of governance and control

5. Knowledge of Cloud Financial Operations concepts and best practices (preferably Certified FinOps Practitioner)

**Essential Skills and Experience**:
1. Hands on experience with Cloudability or similar tool

2. Strong analytical background with the ability to proactively create, interrogate, interpret and draw conclusion/clear next steps from a data set

3. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills with the ability to produce meaningful and accurate insights

4. Ability to present and articulate analytics work effectively

5. Strong attention to detail with regards to data quality and data management

6. Proactive and self-motivated

7. Strong ability and desire to problem solve

8. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others and drive a coordinated approach

9. Strong cross-group collaboration and communication skills

10. Experience working in agile environment

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £310.66-£704.41 per day
