**Team Leader**:The position of Team Leader is a front-line leadership role within the care setting. As a team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the Caseload manager with all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the care setting, including managing staff, and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets national care standards.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

As a Team Leader, you'll be responsible for meeting national minimum standards of care issued by relevant bodies, mainly the Care Quality Commission (CQC) - the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

**Duties include**:

- Ensuring safe service delivery by coordinating quality, person-centred care
- Supporting the Caseload Manager with creating high quality and innovated support planning, attending statutory and case reviews
- Supporting the Caseload Manager to gather stakeholder feedback to inform service improvement.
- Supporting the emotional and behavioural needs of clientele
- Developing new team members and supporting the induction process, including probation and observation
- Mentoring, coaching, and supervising staff in line with employment terms, conditions, and law
- Supporting the Caseload Manager in chairing meetings and ensuring effective communication
- Maintaining quality standards and ensuring health and safety compliance
- Liaising with local authorities/NHS, and maintaining partnerships with local community organisations
- Supporting the Caseload Manager to ensure all CQC regulated activity meets the relevant legal standards (compliance and auditing)
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk
- Providing information, advice, and support to families/guardians/stakeholders
- Organising activities and actively promoting independence and access to services
- Contribute to compliments and complaints, accidents, incidents, whistleblowing and/or safeguarding’s in partnership with the Business Excellence Manager
- Delivering visible leadership and support by following Company Values, being a role model, and aiming for the CQC ‘outstanding’ rating
- Required to contribute to the On Call Rota.

**Skills & Experience**
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and working towards Level 3
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths OR GCSE A*-C English and Maths/GCSE Grade 4 or higher from 2018-present
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- The ability to think strategically to develop your teams.
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, using a variety of communication methods
- A passion for working with people and providing person-centred care
- The capacity to work under pressure and to take a problem-solving approach to work, with the ability to motivate others
- Effective organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise your own and others workload
- An understanding of accountability to comply with regulatory requirements

**What to expect**

The company is currently in transition and is introducing numerous organisational changes, that are required due to inevitable changes from the pandemic. Firstly, we are to improve the company structure to better define roles and responsibilities, including creating the Care Team and the Admin Team within management. Secondly, we have removed the hierarchy between supervisors, managers, and assistants to create more equality in role. The company intends to encourage the Care Team to use their strengths, to teach one another through peer support and hosting clinics, to share the significant skills held by team members, to benefit each other’s development.

You'll be allocated time to complete compliance work but will also be allocated to shifts with clients in the care setting. Although the role can be challenging, there is now an increased focus on and commitment to providing support and training to those in leadership roles within adult social care. You may need to travel during the working day when you have responsibility for a case load and to attend meetings.

**Career Progression**:
Although care management isn't a degree-entry profession, many leaders have management and leadership qualifications and some go on to do further qualifications within their areas of specialism, for example, in dementia or autism studies.
