**Job Purpose**
The Scottish Universities Life Science Alliance (SULSA) works across universities, industry and policy makers to support and enhance research and innovation excellence in Scotland’s life science sector. The post holder will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, liaison and administrative implementation of SULSA related activities and initiatives and provide support to the SULSA Director.
This is a busy role in a fast-paced environment and the postholder will require to work proactively and as part of a team, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Provide administrative support to the SULSA Director in the organisation of meetings, minuting of meetings and creation of meeting summaries for dissemination.
2. Create the monthly SULSA Newsletter to ensure SULSA activities are circulated across the SULSA members (13 Higher Education Institutions).
3. Be the first point of contact for general SULSA queries and work with the team to find solutions and communicate these in a professional and friendly manner.
4. Create data gathering forms (jotform/survey monkey), manage dissemination, analyse incoming data and present to the relevant SULSA project lead (data likely to include dietary and access requirements and feedback from events).
5. Oversee and support data entry into the SULSA Reporting Master documents to support the analysis and presentation of SULSA’s outcomes by the Operations Executive.
6. Be the first point of contact for the Graduate Employability Masterclasses (January to March), industry-taught masterclasses delivered by regional university consortia.
7. Be the first point of contact for the Virtual Reality Training Pilot, supporting with logistics for the booking, delivery and feedback gathering of the VR kit and its use.
8. Work collegiately and effectively within a small team but an expansive network including academics, educators, students, industry, external public bodies and professional services staff.
9. Be an effective team player, being agile in supporting SULSA events and initiatives as required within tight deadlines, this could include in-person event support or online literature gathering for report generation.
10. Any other duties that fall within the area of the post as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder.

**Qualifications/Knowledge**

**Essential**:

A1. Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, including Higher English or the ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.

A3. Excellent IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

**Essential**:

C1. Excellent degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
C2. Excellent organisation skills including time management and in the logistics of event management.
C3. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, diplomacy and assertiveness to build excellent relationships with students and colleagues at all levels.
C4. Ability to work flexibly and independently as well as in a team and to deliver first class support to SULSA’s network.
C5. Excellent demonstrable knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the use of social media.
C6. Ability to interpret data and present findings verbally or in written form.
C7. Ability to be proactive in decision making within assigned tasks and the confidence to work within the team to improve processes where appropriate.
C8. Ability to understand and work within an organisation’s objectives when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1. Experience working under pressure and to deadlines, showing ability to prioritise and be adaptable to changing external pressures.
E2. Experience of effective organisation (eg. ability to organise workshops and events)
E3. Experience of using a wide range of IT systems, including MS Office and social media.
E4. Experience of clerking and scheduling meetings.
E5. Experience working within a team to deliver on organisational delivery plans.

**Desirable**:

F1. Understanding of University structures, policies and procedures
F2. Awareness of the research innovation landscape in Scotland and/or in the UK
F3. Training in a STEM related topic

The post holder will be employed by the University of Glasgow but deliver for 13 higher education institutions in Scotland. The role is full time and will be worked over 4 or 5 days, with a flexible approach to w
