**Salary up to £53,000**

**Days based role - 40 hours per week - Monday-Friday**

A new exciting opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Team Leader to join a successful, fast paced, manufacturer based in Leicester. Reporting into the Operations Manager who you will be closely working alongside your role will include; Leading a team of maintenance engineers and develop a skilled, trained, engaged team of the right calibre and attitude to safely and cost effectively achieve the uptime and productivity targets required for the business to grow sales and profitability.
Due to the nature of the products manufactured here on site, there are ATEX areas and the site is complex so therefore the individual who joins ideally needs to understand the safety required for this site. You will be based across two sites, only a short distance from each other.

**Your role will also include**:

- To manage the team in line with the expectations and responsibilities for the business
- To set high standards and expectations of the team, acting as a role model and developing the departmental culture required to support the maintenance objectives
- To ensure the priorities of the team are clear in relation to breakdowns, PMs and any other work requests from other departments and that engineers complete work in the correct order and to schedule.
- To ensure there is always sufficient shift maintenance resource to deliver the PM schedule and that the engineers are both qualified to carry out the assigned work and can access the appropriate tools for the job
- To assess the quality of PM work completed by the engineers and to follow up any work below standards
- To regularly meet with individual engineers to develop their skills and performance

**Day to day**: people management, ensuring team are doing what they need to be doing, looking at engineering lists and plans, doing a strategic plan and planning the work, checking standards of work. Operational meetings and HR meetings
This is a role for someone who already has strong leadership skills and can bring this into the business. A leader who can set standards, drive change, implement and sustain the changes that are made. As a business there has been big steps made over the last 6-12 months, so a structured approach is key for this role.
The engineering team is a strong and knowledgeable team, and the standard of engineers is high, so they want someone either Electrical or Mechanically biased (or both, they are flexible), who can further guide and support this already successful team.
This position is mainly off the tools, however there is a mix of both office based and hands on included, so it is a good balance. This role also comes with a company laptop and phone.
