**Job overview**:
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker is a key role in the Urgent Treatment Centre. You will work alongside the skilled diverse workforce ensuring your patients receive the highest standard of care.

The ability to work with mínimal supervision and prioritise your workload are essential skills required for the role. Being able to work under pressure is also an essential requirement for the role.

A good sense of humour and a strong desire to be part of a team are a must to manage the demands of the role.

**Main duties of the job**:
With mínimal supervision by a trained nurse, you will assist in the delivery of a quality care service to the highest standards to each individual patient.

You will support the nurse in the assessment of each patient taking into account the social, spiritual, cultural, physical and psychological needs of the patient

Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) and to make referrals as appropriate

You will provide support and care for the patient and his/her family respecting their need for privacy and dignity

With mínimal supervision of a trained nurse you will carry out duties that have been prescribed by a competent clinician and for which you have undergone training, including the recording of ECG’s, venepuncture and cannulation.

Communicate effectively to patients, relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
