Junior Management Accountant - EC2 / FinTech - £35-40K

Reporting to the Financial Controller this role will be primarily responsible for many bookkeeping aspects of the accounting for a global financial services organisation. The role will be suited to a very hands-on accountant within a busy but varied finance team. There will also be the opportunity for projects to improve system utilization and business intelligence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Daily Revenue and client management/KPI reporting
Weekly bank reconciliations of multi-currency accounts and reporting to the parent company.
Maintenance and control of client invoicing process (and connected sub-ledgers)
Maintenance and control of the general ledger (and subsidiary ledgers)
Month-end accounting procedures
Month-end reporting including understanding variances
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
Intercompany reconciliations
Work closely with external auditors for the annual audit and preparation of the statutory accounts Support the budget process
Assist and submit VAT returns
Assist with corporation tax computations
Finance cover for other team members
Contribute to various projects, such as automation and improvement of current processes and reports.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential:
Drive and enthusiasm - a genuine desire to assist the business in achieving an ambitious growth strategy
Experience with general ledger and subsidiary ledger processing and related controls
Strong problem-solving skills
Practical accounting knowledge
A positive attitude and good team-work skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Good at relationship building and influencing/persuasion
Conscientious with attention to detail
Ability to prioritise tasks and deliver output
Ability to identify and implement process improvements and a commitment to improve the effectiveness of process and reporting across the Group

Desirable:
Experience in the commodities industry
A working knowledge of SAP general ledger system
Experience with controls implementation and/or system change
Studying towards an accounting qualification
