Join our friendly team as a Quarry Operative within the Department of Infrastructure, Highways Services Division

The Quarries Section provides the Island's industries with a wide range of aggregate and asphalt products. We currently operates two quarries, Poortown near Peel, and Stoney Mountain near Foxdale.

You will be primarily based at the Stoney Mountain Quarry in Foxdale, where you’ll be responsible for duties associated with the manufacture of quarry products, this will include:

- Performing sentry duties during blasting operations
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and assist in maintenance activities
- Assisting with explosives handling
- Undertaking risk assessment activities
- Operating mobile plant to sort, transport, crush, screen, wash, stockpile and mix materials

You may be asked to work from one of the Department’s other locations if required.

**Additional information**

A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required for this role. A uniform will also be provided.
