Support Driver

**About the role**:
The Thames Water Inventory and Supply team are the custodians of network & critical materials, field engineering parts & tools and mobile plant which are managed through our distribution centres, strategic distribution hubs and depots.Operating on a 24/7-365 basis to provide real time distribution and equipment service to support the Thames Water businesses in meeting our service commitments.
**This role is 45 hour per week (c.9 hour shifts). Shift pattern to be discussed at interview.**
**You will be provided with a tipper vehicle and will require a 3.5 tonne license**
Be part of the Inventory and Supply chain team that will:

- Deliver plant, signing & guarding (S&G) and materials from our strategically placed distribution depots to support the field teams that are out on site.
- Deliver key communications to our customers advising them of planned and imminent repair works on the Thames Water’s water network in their vicinity
- Site monitor field works during the transition between water network fix and reinstatement back-fill completion to ensure that our guarding on our water infrastructure is compliant to a safe and high standard.
All of which will ensure that as a business that we are able to meet our leakage targets, our SI commitments and our customers’ expectations.
**As the Support Driver**:

- Ensure delivery schedules are maintained and that the Logistics coordinator is advised of any deviation that could impact service on any outbound or site collection/clearance tasks.
- Delivery of customer communications and associated cone offs in readiness for planned or emergency work in their letters and cone offs in readiness for planned repair works.
- Undertake site monitoring and site clearance in-line with
- Undertake daily checks prior to vehicle departure
- Conduct preloading assessment prior to despatch and loading and use of the correct tie down for the load. Completed loading plan.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations for EU, Domestic and Working Time Directive, and company policy and procedures.
- At the end of each shift ensure fleet vehicles are compliant and ready for use and any defects are recorded and reported. All equipment is left clean, tidy, and ready for use.
- Ensure the safe and secure loading and unloading of vehicles, through appropriate training and checks.
- Support the Depot & Yard Manager as and when necessary.

**What we are looking for you to have**:

- Essential Driving License CAT B
- Desirable Driving license CAT C
- Desirable New Roads & Street Works Action 1991: Unit 2 Signing & Guarding
- Desirable Experience with any Manual Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Awareness of health safety and environment legislation
