Sure recruitment NI are working with a company based in Belfast. We are seeking to recruit a Slinger

The role of the crane slinger is to connect lifting accessories to the hook of lifting equipment, then provide instructions in the form of signals or verbal communication to the crane operator while guiding a traveling load from the lifting point to the landing point, or a part of the total distance required**.**

**Essential**:

- CPCS blue card or equivalent

**Desirable**:

- Counterbalance forklift license above 7 ton
- Telescopic forklift license
- M.E.W.P training
- Radio experience/training
- Manual handling training
- **Key Interpersonal/Behavioural Skills**:_
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure with mínimal supervision and to tight deadlines
- Build good working relationships

**Responsibilities**
- Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals
- Providing clear, correct, and safe directions to plant operators
- Check all relevant accessories for damage before work begins
- Select appropriate lifting equipment and attach and detach it correctly and safely
- Use clear signals or radio communication to direct the actions of a crane
- Movement of loads of various weights and dimensions
- Determine the serviceability of lifting accessories and maintain and store them correctly
- Work within the confines of a lifting plan created by an appointed person
- Understanding risks (e.g., blind spots) and how to manage these effectively
- Establish weights and dimensions of loads
- Always ensure compliance with company safety procedures

**Job Type**: Temporary contract

**Salary**: £14.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
