**Medical Science Liaison (Contract) - Hepatocellular Carcinoma**

Our client is a pioneering healthcare company that provides diagnostic and monitoring products to hospitals, laboratories, and A&E services. They are global leaders in several therapy areas and have a strong focus on research and development.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a critical role in supporting the appropriate use of products and services and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within healthcare systems such as the NHS. Reporting to the Head of Medical Affairs, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement the medical strategy relevant to HCC, leading medical activity in this setting.

This is a contract role running from 20 Feb - 29 Dec 2023. This role is field-based with national and international travel required. This role requires disease area and clinical expertise as well as business understanding to support the appropriate use of high medical value products in collaboration with other key stakeholders.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Leading the development and delivery of the local Medical Strategy and Plan for the relevant product
- Leadership of the disease area external collaboration and engagement plan e.g., implementation of the key opinion leader (KOL) advice-seeking plan
- Providing relevant medical education and training for HCPs
- Leadership of the investigator-initiated study (IIS) program and oversight of ongoing studies
- Providing strategic medical review for promotional & non-promotional materials and communications
- Support cross-functional activities with a focus on ‘high-medical value’ products/services and support appropriate adoption of innovative technologies within clinical practice and patient pathways
- Horizon scanning - evaluating the potential Medical benefit or value of new diagnostic technologies/interventions

**Who you are**:

- Relevant science-based Masters/PhD or MBBS/MD essential
- Prior experience working within Medical Affairs in the diagnostic or pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable
- Prior experience of project management highly desirable
- Prior experience of KOL interaction (e.g. educational events, advisory boards etc.) desirable
- Knowledge of the development and implementation of clinical trials, including data analysis and interpretation preferred
- Knowledge of the regulatory process and associated governance of diagnostic technologies preferred
- Experience of working in a cross-functional / matrix team setting in collaboration with other functional partners desirable
- Prior experience working in hepatocellular carcinoma desirable
