An exciting opportunity has arisen for Security / Violence and Aggression (V&A) Advisors to join the Health and Safety Team.

Security and V&A Management sit under the responsibility of the Head of Health, Safety and Security

As the successful post holder you will be responsible for supporting the Health Boards lead on Security Management providing expert advice in this field. You will also provide advice and assist with the development of a victim support service/ case management for those involved with incidents of workplace violence and aggression from incident to conclusion.

This role will be undertaken during core weekday working hours however occasional weekend or out of hours working may be required to support staff.

To support the Health Board’s lead on Security Management including district general hospitals as well as community based services. The post holder will support on the implementation of the Health Board Security Strategy and Policy and provide the direction for the reduction in risks associated with security management within that area/division.

To advise and assist with the development of a victim support service/case management for those involved with incidents of workplace violence and aggression from incident to conclusion. This includes collaborative work with all stakeholders, including Police, Courts and Crown Prosecution Service etc. and providing feedback/outcomes to victims.

To lead on the development, review and management of the security risk profile process within their area of responsibility, providing assurance, to the Head of Health and Safety, that security risks are being managed in accordance with statutory legislation and national guidance.

To be responsible for day to day management of security related staff, including externally provided, both on BCUHB sites within their area/division/region.

The post holder will assist with the development of a comprehensive strategy and policy framework within their area of responsibility to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

To provide a professional and innovative security function.

Responsible for the safe use of equipment other than equipment which they personally use e.g. training equipment.

May rarely authorise signatory for cash/financial payments. Monitors or contributes to the drawing up of department/service budgets or financial initiatives.

To provide support to develop, implement, review and evaluate strategies, policies and procedures relating to the prevention of crime. This includes, but not limited to CCTV, Lone Working, emergency and major incident responses.

To provide competent professional advice on all matters of violence and aggression and security to all levels of managers and employees to assist with legislative compliance.
