**Job Summary**:
Are you a compassionate, engaging and creative individual with a proven record of delivering effective training to a range of learners, including adults facing disadvantage and the ability to support people who have multiple and complex needs? Do you have experience of working to targets and recording information and statistics to enable effective monitoring of performance against targets?

If so, St Giles is looking for an experienced **Youth Work Prison Trainer** to** **join our dynamic larger Trainer and Assessor Team and deliver a customised and innovative training package to women at HMP Drake Hall empowering individuals aged 18-25 to become the next generation of youth workers.

**About this key role**

We will count on you to interview applicants, assess learning and other needs, taking into account support issues and experience, carry out risk assessments, and to work with learners to produce and review realistic individual learning plans. You will provide tailored one-to-one support and guidance to learners, and for group sessions, liaise with the key contact within the prison ahead of the course to explain the course, identify the aims and likely needs of learners and adapt sessions as required. Collecting feedback and evidence of the progress made by learners and providing timely monthly reports on progress against agreed outcomes are both key elements of this role, as is working constructively with colleagues to achieve project outcomes.

**What we are looking for**
- Three years youth work experience
- An appropriate teaching-related qualification e.g. Level 4 or 5 qualifications in Education and Training or CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed.
- Knowledge of the issues faced by prisoners in accessing and sustaining training or employment
- Thorough understanding of the importance of quality assurance as it relates to training to vulnerable adults
- Demonstrable ability to support and motivate learners with multiple complex needs
- Proven ability to deliver a range of engaging training programmes in a fast paced environment
- First-class interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.
