A vacancy has arisen within Stagecoach South East for a Workshop Controller at our Ashford depot.

The role of the Workshop controller is to ensure the workshop is run with maximum efficiency and capacity by adapting capacity to meet the demands of our ever-changing business as efficiently as possible. The post holder is also responsible for managing the internal customer relationship with our operations colleagues, ensuring the operations team have great confidence in the workshop through the provision of excellent service. Whilst maintaining compliance to both Group and legislative requirements.

**Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities**

Below is a list of the key areas of the job but it is not exhaustive and job holders may be required to carry out other tasks at the request of their manager.
- Comply with company Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies always, including the mandatory wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Plan and maintain Service and Cleaning Planners, working with your team to achieve an efficient workflow.
- Raising and scheduling of EAM's Work Orders.
- Maintain that Work orders are closed in a timely manner.
- Input and monitoring of Vehicle Defects and Breakdowns on EAM's.
- Breakdown / Defect Analysis.
- Carry out quality checks on the EAM's system and highlight any concerns with staff input and give guidance to correct.
- Estimate both mechanical and body repairs for Accident repairs.
- Monitor job cards and service documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Liaise and negotiate with the Storekeeper to ensure parts availability and ensure service exchange and warranty parts procedures are adhered to.
- Check and issue purchase order numbers to specialist / external agents and to arrange / plan such works as required.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness is maintained within the workshop and tools are in good condition to maintain the company image and a safe working environment.
- Assist managers to maintain group best practise within department to a high standard.
- Attend Daily Morning Meetings with the managers and storekeeper to discuss cost control, daily workflow, and planning.
- Technical experience without formal qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience (desirable)

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach
- Full clean driving licence.
- Excellent people skills and ability to build and manage relationships.
- Effective communication skills
- Effective time management and organisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Able to actively seek solutions to problems.
- Actively work as part of and lead a team.
- Computer literacy with the ability to extract and filter Data using Excel is essential.

**Personal Development**

This role is the first step into the management team, full training in company procedures and IT systems will be provided with opportunities to completed FTA training to gain further understanding of the Engineering roles within your remit. This role will also open up opportunities to further progress your career with Stagecoach South East.
