Based at our site in Gorton, Manchester, we manufacture frozen products for Iceland stores. This is a great opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) Auditor to join our Technical team at an exciting time of growth within Iceland’s food manufacturing site.

We’ve had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure we are protecting our teams in the current climate, but we’re busier than ever, growing our product range and want to ensure all our support functions across site are ready to proactively contribute to the site’s growth.

**Role Details**

Role: QA Auditor

**Salary**: £21,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday rotating shifts 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm

Contract: Permanent

To adhere to quality plans and procedures, examine products and materials, and verify that Company and customer compliance standards are being met.

To provide support to the Technical Manager, Quality Manager and Technical Services Supervisor to ensure departmental and site KPI’s are achieved.
- Deliver, operate and maintain all activities required to ensure food safety, quality, legality and integrity throughout all site production, storage and packaging operations.
- Validate and verify key food safety, quality and legality processes and shelf life of products through testing and audit techniques including;
- Conducting audits of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), paperwork completion, chiller temperatures and stock rotations, internal systems, hygiene, personal hygiene, Critical Control Points (CCPs) and fabrication on an hourly/daily/weekly/monthly basis as per schedule.
- Conducting environmental swabbing - using ATP machine and traditional swabs as required
- With Production ensure all production lines are compliant and working to the food safety requirements.
- Carry out thorough investigations in the event of a food safety risk.
- Perform regular inspection of components online ensuring all are within specification and be actively involved in reviewing stock approaching end of life and updating shelf life extension log.
- Raise, report and investigate internal and external non-conformance reports and concessions. quality,
- Participate in external audits/visits, demonstrating systems and records
- Organize and conduct consistency and sensory panels (Taste Panel).
- Conduct traceability exercises, report findings and where necessary address any repeated failings.
- Support with investigations relating to customer/consumer complaints or other product defects
- Occasional travel and as when required by IML to external coldstores, Iceland depots, Iceland & Food Warehouse stores and suppliers.
- Review production QC checks submitted on NAV system.

**Skills & Experience**

Essential:

- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Good organisational skills whilst demonstrating initiative
- Detail-focussed with a high level of accuracy
- IT proficient - Outlook, Word and Excel
- Analytical and methodical in solving problems.

Desirable:

- Food handling and manufacturing experience
- Experience within a similar quality assurance role
- Food Safety level 3
- HACCP level 2

Some occasional travel may be required to external coldstores, Iceland depots, Iceland & Food Warehouse stores and suppliers.
