Warehouse Operative

**About the role**

This varied role will primarily be in the dispatch and goods in area of the warehouse where the applicant will be trained in the receipt, picking, packing and shipping of customer orders. Working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 10:00 - 18:30.

**About you**

Key activities and Responsibilities:

- Booking in inbound stock, relocating stock. Identify and resolve issues with deliveries.
- Picking stock for customer orders, notifying management of any stock discrepancies, handling stock in a professional manner.
- Packing and dispatching customer orders, ensuring that orders are shipped accurately and packed to the very high standards that our customers demand.
- Assisting the sales team with quotations for shipping goods on a same day basis.
- Shipping international orders.
- Assisting with routine stock checking.
- Assisting with special stock rollout projects as required.
- Maintaining high standards of general housekeeping in alignment with health and safety policies.
- Ensure adherence to company security procedures at all times.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Use of computerised inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of current health and safety in the workplace legislation including use of PPE and manual handling.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Strong mental arithmetic skills.
- Attention to detail and spatial awareness essential.
- IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge with regards to process and procedures.
- Three years’ experience in a warehouse environment, with specialism in goods receipt or dispatch operations.
- Hard working, structured and organized with an excellent eye for detail.
- Hands on approach, willing to ensure that all tasks asked of them are handled with care and skill.
- Work well under pressure, use good time management, be a good team worker, with ability to multi-task.
- Accurately implement and work in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure professional standards of quality of work, personal presentation and personal conduct, projecting a professional image at all times.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as requested by the Management team.
- This role will involve a high degree of manual work
