We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant / Driver to be a part of our integral team at Uppingham School.

As a Catering Assistant / Driver you will support the team in basic food preparation and provide an excellent food service to both students and staff, and deliver food around the site.

Uppingham - Uppingham School is an Independent School that has numerous locations throughout the town. There are 15 boarding houses in total & 2 Hub kitchens across the site, some houses have in house Chef’s. Hub Kitchen’s prepare food for 6 houses & it is then delivered to various houses. The required role would be based in the Hub Kitchen’s.

**What you’ll be doing**
- The transportation of food to the required locations, meeting strict time scales.
- Loading and unloading of all items & present on food counters, as per specifications.
- The completion of a standard checklist to ensure that all food requirements & utensils are available for service.
- Ensure servery display equipment is on & working to standard - TV’s & ipads & reporting any issues.
- Working closely with the on-site Chefs to ensure that service standards / menu requirements are met.
- Ensure any special deliveries are made & cross-reference against orders / Customer specifications - Packed Lunches / Dietary Requirements.
- Make sure catering items are stored properly and at the required temperature.
- Assist with stock deliveries & stocktaking.
- Cleaning Duties within the Kitchen & servery areas
- Provide a friendly & professional service to all clients & customers.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed & relevant records are maintained.
- Follow all driving safety rules & regulations - Driving will be required on Public & Private roads.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues immediately to your Supervisor.

**Experience**
- A full clean driving license is required for this role (must be 21 years or over with minimum 2 years driving experience)
- Have previous catering experience
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items
- Knowledge of the local area
- Knowledge of food safety and food handling practices
- Knowledge of applicable health codes and regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Good communication skills
- Being a Catering Assistant / Driver requires a variety of skills that are essential for success. One of the most important skills is a strong attention to detail. Paying close attention to the delivery instructions, ensuring accuracy in order delivery, and double-checking orders before leaving the pickup location.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.00 per hour
