Lincolnshire’s mental health trust (Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) and Lincolnshire County Council’s Future4Me service have successfully developed a clinical psychology-led consultation, training, assessment and intervention model of working to enable Local Authority staff working with young people with the most complex needs.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced clinical psychologist who already has experience of working with Young Offenders and Children in Care. We are looking for someone who is familiar with formulation and consultation to a range of professionals and agencies. The successful applicant will also have experience of providing clinical psychology assessments and interventions to CYP and their families and carers.

Ability to travel across the county is essential.

There will be an expectation for face to face work with young people and their carers and families. Your work base will be Sleaford Area Office, Eastgate, Sleaford. Some of the current work duties may be possible to complete from home using video and internet functions.

The post holder will work into the Lincolnshire CYP Complex Needs Service which sits within an integrated care system. The Specialist Clinical Psychologist will provide trauma informed consultations and formulations alongside specialist psychological assessments and interventions, to young people, their carers and professionals working with them.

Children who come into contact with the Criminal Justice System and those known to Children's Services are known to have the highest levels of vulnerability and complex needs and the Specialist Clinical Psychologist will be expected to work with vulnerable young people including Children in Care; children and young people on the edge of care, children and young people with Learning Difficulties & Disabilities; children and young people who are at risk of, or who have had contact with, the Youth Justice Service and those at risk of exploitation and extra-familial harm.

The Specialist Clinical Psychologist will be expected to work closely with Future4Me Service staff, Children's Service's staff, LPFT CAMHS and Child Psychology staff and other staff who work internal and external to Lincolnshire’s CYP Complex Needs Service, LPFT and who provide services to children, young people and their carers / families.

This post will be based out of an LCC office in Sleaford, but there will be opportunities to work from home on some days.

Clinical
- To provide Specialist Clinical Psychology assessments for young people being seen within the CYP Complex Needs Service. This will include risk assessments, developmental assessments, AIM3 assessments.
- To produce specialist clinical psychology reports and, on occasion, present these within court proceedings; at the local Out of Area Treatment panel (OAT panel).
- To provide specialist therapeutic interventions informed by developmental trauma theory and research which will include at least three of the following: - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
- Attachment based therapy e.g., DDP; Theraplay.
- Trauma based therapy e.g., EMDR.
- Systemic based therapy.
- Behaviour Therapy.
- Therapeutic interventions for CYP presenting with sexually concerning behaviours.
- Solution focused therapies.
- Creative therapies.
- Mindfulness, relaxation and visualisation techniques.
- To provide psychology consultation and formulation clinics to Future4Me and Childrens Services staff to support them in the development and provision of appropriate interventions to the CYP they are working with and to give
