**Overview of the role:
As a result of growing demands for our award-winning range of diesel engines, we are seeking a talented Senior Calibration or Calibration Engineer, who is looking for an opportunity to further their career at the cutting edge of powertrain control systems.
**This role is based at their engine research and development centre in Derbyshire, UK.**

**Your Responsibilities as a Senior Calibration / Calibration Engineer:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the calibration and validation of engine control parameters across a range of medium duty off-highway diesel and spark ignition gas engines. Contribution to work packages across a range of engine and aftertreatment functional areas is typically required, including:
- Cold start and warmup
- Hot and altitude environment optimisation Torque demand and speed governing
- Transient optimisation of fuelling, boost, EGR and ignition Model based torque structure
- Communication with other machine control systems
- Machine integration engine/after treatment calibration activities, including climatic testing Calibration database management
- Writing development plans and engineering reports. Supervision of junior engineers & technicians
**Desired Skills and Experience:
- Training in engineering fundamentals, either to degree level in a relevant discipline
(eg. Automotive, Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Mechatronic) or evidence of equivalent skills developed in a professional environment.
- Track record of delivering complex and diverse diesel, gasoline or gas engine system calibrations to a production level compliance, performance and robustness
- Direct experience of engine and after treatment calibration toolchain including development calibration tools and software, data logging, calibration protocols etc)
- A firm grasp of automotive electric/electronics fundamentals (ECU, sensor, actuators, CAN bus based communications and diagnostics)
- A practical and hands on approach to problem solving
