**Job Description : Laundry Assistant**

**Responsible to : Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor & Laundry Supervisor**

**Duties**:

- To be aware of and comply with COSHH and Healthy and Safety Regulations.
- To wash, dry and iron all clothes and linen in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations and local policy.
- Be aware of and wash, dry and iron all clothes and linen using appropriate cycles and equipment and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Report damaged/condemned clothing to management.
- Report to management clothes requiring special cleansing/repair.
- Return clean clothes to residents’ individual named boxes for redistribution to appropriate drawers/wardrobes.
- Return clean linen to stock.
- Ensure equipment is utilised and cared for in an appropriate manner.
- Report faulty equipment to maintenance.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available for laundering.
- Submit orders for laundry products in liaison with orders for housekeeping/catering cleaning supplies.

- 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff still required to wear a mask and limited testing still in place. All uniforms washed on site.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Melrose, TD6 9DH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Laundry Occupations: 1 year (preferred)
