**About the Role**:
Crewing Officer
Can be based anywhere in the UK.

As ship owners for more than 175 years, James Fisher Shipping Services provides technical vessel and crew management to the James Fisher fleet of tankers, as well as to the wider tanker, research and specialised vessel markets.
The Role:
Provide support to the crew and to be fully familiar with the crewing (Shipmate) system as well as other systems such as OCIMF and other systems required within the industry to register and monitor crew deployments and monitor crew certification.
Take care to ensure the crew deployments are conducted safely, efficiently with a high priority on costs.
The company operates their vessels on 24-hour basis 365 days of the year and so there will be a requirement to respond at short notice and weekend working will be required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Crew changes - Includes arranging travel / immigration, checking documents, updating supplier.
- managed, checking invoices, communicating with travellers / vessels / agents and all related matters.
- Travel Invoices Co-ordination reporting to Crewing Manager.
- Payroll reporting to Crewing Manager.
- Financial reporting to Crewing Manager.
- People reporting to Crewing Manager.
- Updating of the crewing records in such systems as OCIMF and the Shipmate system.
- Uploading and checking that the correct documents are retained within the crewing systems.
- Arrange for Drug and Alcohol screening for company vessels.
- Assist and provide information for incident investigations on assigned vessels.
- Assist and be involved with Seafarer conferences as required.
- Support annual review of procedures by feeding back to Crewing Manager.
- Participation in audits as and when required.
- Provide out of hours cover.
- Cover for other Crewing Officer(s) & Senior Crewing Officer during periods of annual leave etc.
- Understudy to Senior Crewing Officer.
Stakeholders:
Accounts team - crewing budget (e.g. travel costs) for assigned ships.
Crew - for their travel and welfare requirements.
Travel providers - travel and care of the crew members.
External Auditing bodies - for DOC / MLC and TMSA audits by visiting inspectors.
Customers and Suppliers:
You will interact effectively with all internal and external stakeholders with the aim of serving customers in the best way possible, this includes effectively developing relationships with customers and other functions within James Fisher and externally.
Environment:
Ensure that environmental impacts are monitored, and any data required is gathered.
Communities:
Participates in all initiatives related to the Division’s strategy regarding local communities, as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous crewing experience with tankers is preferable..
- Understanding of documentation, SMS and OCIMF TMSA STCW MLC etc.
- Strong organisational, communication and administrative skills.
- Ability to respond to stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
- IT literate including Excel.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision.
