We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and accurate financial solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our team in St. Asaph. We are looking for an immediate start for this role.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting team with various tasks related to financial transactions, record-keeping, and reporting. You will be responsible for providing prompt and courteous assistance to our construction clients, particularly concerning VAT and tax returns. Your primary responsibilities will include:

- **Data Entry**: Accurately entering financial transactions into our accounting software and maintaining up-to-date financial records.
- **Invoice Processing**: Preparing, verifying, and processing invoices, and handling payments and expense claims.
- **Bank Reconciliation**: Reconciling bank statements with company records and identifying discrepancies.
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**: Managing accounts payable, ensuring bills are paid on time, and handling accounts receivable to ensure timely payments from clients.
- **Assisting with Payroll**: Supporting the payroll process by maintaining accurate records and assisting in calculating employee wages and deductions.
- **Financial Reporting**: Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and helping with month-end and year-end close processes.
- **Client Communication**: Efficiently managing incoming calls from construction clients regarding VAT, tax returns, self-assessments, and CIS exemptions, providing accurate information and guidance.
- **Administrative Support**: Performing filing, photocopying, and managing correspondence, as well as other administrative tasks to support the accounting team.
- **Client Interaction**: Collecting necessary information from clients to facilitate the processing of their financial documents and ensuring all interactions are conducted professionally.

**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- **Educational Background**: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience**: At least 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in accounting software, office software, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- **Organizational Skills**: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
- **Independent Work**: Ability to work independently and efficiently in a solo office environment, including being comfortable with opening and closing the office.
- **Professional Qualification**: Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- **Construction Industry Knowledge**: Understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and exemptions is a plus.
