**Job summary**:
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 9,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. The Army’s Information Directorate provides the Chief Information Officer function for the Army, leads the Army’s digitalisation, delivers information exploitation services and orchestrates the delivery of digital programmes. The directorate also provides leadership and coherence across the Cyber and Electro-Magnetic Activities (CEMA), Intelligence and Security functions in the Army. The Director’s vision is: Information is valued, exploited and protected as a critical Army asset to maximise advantage in a trusted Single Information Environment

Digital Discovery sits within the Information Directorate in Army HQ and drives the Army’s digital agenda. The Digital Discovery - Insights & Communications Coordinator post is a crucial role within the Information Directorate - Information Exploitation (IX) Function at Army HQ.

It is an extremely exciting opportunity for you to not only be an important enabler to the Army’s digital Transformation agenda; but also integral to the delivery of Programme THEIA (The Digital Transformation Programme for the British Army), be a part of the digital revolution and become a digital champion.

In this role you will report to the S01 Strategic Engagement & Insights Lead to drive continuous improvement across the teams, engage and build awareness for wider Digital Transformation and Digital Discovery insights, create and manage a communication and insights strategy across IX (information Exploitation) for Army Digital Transformation, as well as wider D Info activities.

You will manage communication and co-ordinate the team to help to identify, prioritise, define and develop transformational digital change across the Army whilst supporting the business to be truly transformational and strategic for the future.

The Digital Discovery Team is at the heart of the Army’s digital transformation agenda; helping users to refine their business needs - looking at people, process, policy, and IT.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Information Exploitation underpins decision making across the Army, be it in the business space or out in the smallest tactical deployment. Information is key to our war fighters' and business leaders' understanding.

Determining how to deliver that information both today and tomorrow, as well as understanding how we can share or exploit this and others' information, is what Information Exploitation is all about.

Digital Discovery support the Army Chief Information Officer and Chief Data Officer; inputting into the wider Defence Digital agenda, maximising the impact and pace of Army Digitalisation.

The Digital Discovery Strategic Engagement and Insights coordinator is responsible for ensuring alignment between the team and the wider D info and Information Exploitation (IX) branch.

This role will give you the opportunity to build relationships and oversight of new and extant digital projects across the Army and Defence. As we move further into a digital world - Innovation, leadership and communication skills are essential.
