**Job Scope**:
We are looking to recruit an Activities Assistant, to provide support with the Community Centre and the Retirement Living Services. The Activities Assistant will be responsible for the front-line delivery of the day services to the company’s members, including running and supporting with activities such as chair based-exercise classes, discussion groups, special interest groups, as well as monthly Tea parties.

The role of Activities Assistant will involve planning, developing, implementing, and running a person-centred programme of stimulating activities that meet the social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs of members and tenants to enable them to lead as full a life as possible, while collaborating with Centre Coordinators and Registered Managers to ensure the events and activities are arranged in line with the budgetary requirements.

The Activities Assistant will be working with members, tenants, volunteers, and colleagues to design, develop and deliver a range of daily activities that reflect individual needs, interests, choices, and preferences, as well as operating with the programming teams to set up technology to support the members taking part in activities at home - online social discussion groups and exercise classes.

In addition, the Activities Assistant will also be planning and delivering events and activities to actively celebrate the way of life. This will require regular working outside of the usual 9-5pm pattern, including evenings and weekends.

The duties of an Activities Assistant include identifying and reviewing risks, hazards, and health and safety concerns with relevant colleagues, and where necessary, carry out duties such as personal care, as indicated in a person’s care plan, as well as taking part in care plan meetings with colleagues, internal Social Work colleagues, relatives, and external agencies.

Furthermore, the Activities Assistant will be responsible for supporting the minibus drivers with the transportation needs of members, ensuring their needs are met in line with the agreed standards for transport.

**Do you have?**
- Possessing or being willing to complete a relevant Health & Social Care qualification
- Professional background in recreational and social activities, including working with both individuals and groups of people
- Working experience with elderly, who may also have dementia and have a range of needs and abilities
- Previous experience collaborating with volunteers, relatives, families, and other community members
- Understanding of the challenges related to the physical and mental health of older individuals

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.95 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
