**Salary**: JNC point 18 £30,096 (pro rata)

**Job Purpose**: To provide leadership and direction for CYI and ensure that the project has and maintains a high profile in both Corbridge and the Youth Service
Sector, working with young people to ensure service is reflective of the needs of young people in Corbridge and the surrounding area.

**Responsible for**: Sessional Youth Workers, Youth Support Staff and Volunteers

**Duties and key areas of responsibility**
- To ensure CYI grows and develops in line with the young people’s needs and operates within funders’ and commissioners’ contractual arrangements.
- Working with the fundraising committee to deliver and annual programme of community fundraising events and activities.
- Ensure safeguarding of all the young people involved in CYI programmes.
- Ensure the safe and appropriate practice of all youth work staff in compliance with CYI’s policies and procedures, embedding a positive team culture.
- Contribute to an annual review of youth work delivery in cooperation with young people, staff and the board of Trustees.
- Working with the Trustees to deliver the three-year CYI strategy.
- Working with Trustees to ensure that the club has a sustainable workforce plan.
- Provide reports and updates on youth work delivery as required, including

Board reports, annual reports and reports to funders.
- Risk assessment of activities, trips and young people and ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
- To lead on planning and effective day to day coordination of appropriate, safe, high quality directly delivered youth work opportunities.
- Maintain quality of service provision through effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Line management, support and supervision of Sessional Youth Workers,

Youth Support Staff and Volunteers.
- To undertake some administrative duties including budget control, record keeping and health and safety

**Accountability for Resources: -**
- To be responsible for the day to day management of the Corbridge Youth

Initiative (CYI) building.
- To ensure the proper use and care of equipment, ensuring that it is maintained in a safe and hygienic condition at all times.
- To manage the day to day finances of the project in co-operation with the treasurer and the chair.
- To be responsible for social media and other CYI digital resources.

**Work arrangements**

The ability to work evenings, weekends and unsocial hours including trips and residentials as and when appropriate.

Working conditions: Predominantly centre based, although on occasions off-site work is required.

Working with children is unpredictable and varied and requires staff to be flexible and adaptable. Not all the roles and responsibilities are contained in this job description.
Any additional duties will be compatible with regular tasks and duties. Alterations to the job description will occur on an annual basis during the appraisal and in consultation with the staff member.
