Crisis Worker

Treetops SARC provides support, advice and forensic examination services for people who have experienced rape or sexual assault throughout Hampshire and the IOW. We are based in Cosham, Portsmouth and open 365 days a year, staffed by on-call crisis workers and sexual offences examiners.

We are looking for a Crisis Worker to join a small team of forensic physicians, Crisis Workers and support workers delivering high standards of care to people who have recently experienced rape or sexual assault.

You will:

- Provide support and crisis management to people who have recently experienced rape of sexual assault
- Support the triage system for clients requiring a forensic medical examination
- Participate in the 6 week rolling rota, which includes working two Saturday and two Sundays per month
- Support on call cover to ensure appropriate cover for a 24/7 service, including working at least two twilight shifts and two-night shifts per week
- Attend SARC Base, Treetops Centre, within 60 minutes of being called by the police
- Offer telephone support and information, as part of the 24/7 rota.

We are looking for someone who communicates with a high degree of empathy and is able to work with highly complex, sensitive information about emotive issues. To have a good understanding of issues relating to rape and sexual assault and to have an organised and methodical approach to work.
