We have a fantastic opportunity to work with some amazing individuals in the community, and we are supporting several families to have short breaks, and to provide support for activities for several children we support.
These activities can range from accessing the community, to been involved in sports activities and active play sessions, or just general support to engage and stimulate.
The children we support who require support range from six years old through to seventeen years old, and support is required to support with either a health need or with a disability.
Much of the support is delivered after school hours, or on a Saturday or Sunday, and generally in blocks of three hours, but this extends in the school holidays.
This role would suit someone who wishes to work late afternoons and early evenings, and weekends, but there are some hours available through the day.
In all cases we match people with the right clients and families, all our support is based on consistency and matching skills and personalities. therefore, there may be a need for you to be interviewed by the family prior to acceptance.
For this position you must have a background in care and support, and also you will be able to work on your own initiative and also have an engaging personality, but also be able to deal with situations that may be of a challenge, and therefore understanding how to provide a level of consistency to ensure that situations do not escalate and understanding what trigger points could take place are essential, and ultimately if situations do become a challenge, knowing how to deal in these circumstances is crucial, but the focus is very much on this situation not happening.
For this position you will need to be a car driver as some elements of the support may require trips out.
