We are currently searching for a Raw Material Technologist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in one of the fastest growing food manufacturers in the UK.

**Job Purpose**

Working as part of a team to produce high quality meat products that comply with all food safety and legality requirements, for our customers. To work with suppliers to ensure that all raw materials and packaging being brought to site is risk assessed and approved prior to its use.

**Hours of work**
40 hours per week (8am
- 5pm with flexibility)

**The Person**
- A food related (or equivalent) degree.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Evidence of good planning, organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and related IT packages
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- Driven and energetic
- Focus on speed and accuracy
- Previous experience is desired but not necessary as full training will be provided.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail

**The Job**
- To ensure that there is a fully updated and maintained supplier approval program which meets the needs of the business and customer requirements.
- To request relevant information and complete risk assessments to ensure that all new Raw Materials and Suppliers meet both the requirements of Finnebrogue and the customer codes of practice; e.g. M&S A List
- To ensure that there are raw material specifications for all ingredients; which reflect the ingredient supplied, are agreed and signed by both parties and reviewed as required by risk assessment.
- To update and maintain micro and chemical testing schedules and validation for all current and new raw materials.
- To ensure that there are intake specifications for all raw material and an intake inspection plan by risk assessment.
- To maintain a supplier audit schedule using the relevant risk assessment.
- To ensure that all supplier NCNs are closed out satisfactorily, to trend these on monthly basis and to act on rising trends with suppliers, ensuring quality improvement plans are initiated and that these improve the quality within determined frequencies.
- To maintain and complete chain of custody mass balance exercises and schedule based on risk assessment
- Assist with site audits
- To carry out pre-operation assessments, GMP and Internal audits, ensuring that any non-conformances are effectively closed out.
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the technical managers.
