**Job description**:
**Vickerstock **are excited to be working in partnership with our Food Manufacturing client where growth is at the heart of everything, they do on the appointment of **Food Technologist** for their Portadown based site. Our family run client specialises in desserts, fruit compotes and bakery fillings and are expanding their current range line with consumers ever changing tastes.

**What your typical day as Food Technologist will look like**:

- Responsible for co-ordinating and managing all information for new product specifications and transferring data into specific customer formats including web-based systems.
- Completion of customer information for all new products
- Technical sign off for packaging involving checking artwork against specification through several stages.
- Responsible for producing and amending internal factory specifications for each new product or updating changes to existing product specification.
- Responsible for checking new product shelf life from Laboratory and new suppliers and converting them to product specifications.
- Responsible for site supplier approval program
- Responsible for assessing and review of product specifications and raw material information to determine suitability for the site.
- Carrying out site internal audits, reporting non-conformance and follow up on the close out of corrective actions.
- Hold and Document Meetings on site relating to the above were appropriate.
- Aid Technical Management within the Factory during Site Visits / Audits
- Act as a supporting role for Technical Management during Site Visits / Audits e.g., gathering information / files requested by auditor, assist traces team etc.
- Part of the site Traceability Team on site - assisting with scheduled and requested traces.
- Aid NPD from a Technical Perspective - technically checking specifications, assisting in Product Launch Days etc.
- Carrying out other duties within Technical Department as deemed appropriate by Management.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Experience working with a Food Technical department.
- Third level qualification or equivalent/Food Science
- Knowledge of online food specifications
- Understanding of food microbiology and allergens
