**About UK Assessment & Qualifications**: We are responsible for the delivery of nearly 4 million examination results per annum, including A-Level, GCSE, BTEC and T-levels for students in UK and International centres. Our in-house systems process every learner from registration to marking and certification, in a highly regulated business. We currently operate a hybrid estate of predominantly bespoke systems, with an ongoing strategic transformation programme to migrate from on-prem to cloud based, cost effective, scalable, and resilient services.

**The Role**: This is a newly created role that will support Pearson Schools Qualifications and Vocational Qualifications globally. This is a unique opportunity to join a significant and high-profile technology operation whilst driving transformation for the future and deliver an integrated digital business that supports teaching, learning and assessment and qualifications. You will be an excellent team player and communicator.

The BRCC Lead will be successful if affected business teams and customers are able to use the system efficiently and are ready to use it when the time comes. If there is a need to change the agreed plan or to communicate with customers and internal teams, the BRCC Lead will ensure that appropriate comms are made in conjunction with the necessary teams. The BRCC Lead should have a good knowledge of how the systems are developed and deployed and will play a leading role in developing the understanding and functionality key developments.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Support the Technology LT and EMT in ensuring programmes are delivered on time by keeping testing activities on track.
- Provide a point of contact between the development delivery teams and business stakeholders during testing activities.
- Create the end to end strategic plan from a Business Readiness perspective which integrates with the overall project plan and takes dependencies into consideration, in consultation with Operations and Business.
- Act as workstream lead for BRCC, alongside the Technology Project Manager, and provide updates and status on progress to plan (Reporting on milestones, Programme Risk and Issues etc) as requested to the Business Requirements Lead and Programme Management.
- Be accountable and take responsibility to drive the planned activities for BRCC and advise the Business Requirements Lead/Portfolio Management of any deviations from plan, or any changes to scope.
- Escalate risks & issues to the Head of Qualification Service Transformation and Portfolio Management, and manage the remediation / resolution where possible.
- Develop and implement a strategy for internal and external comms and training, consulting with the project team.

**Skills and experienced required**
- Relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and/or prepared for training and ongoing support in this area, including the use of Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Jira to support the product backlog.
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework methodology.
- Relationship building.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple efforts and to address changes in priorities.
- Good oral and written communication skills particularly to support cross business and technology dialogue including producing clear user stories, defects and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in a teamwork environment.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and practice.

All our roles are hybrid working; for this role that means visiting your base office no more than once a week, and with the possibility of occasional business travel to UK Pearson sites.

We actively encourage our staff to participate in at least 40 hours of training a year, and offer relevant AWS (Amazon Web Service) training and certification as part of this role.
