Workshop Assistant

SylvanWorks are makers of high end, bespoke furniture and interiors. We work with interior designers, architects, developers and contractors to create and install beautiful, high end cabinetry.

We are looking for a workshop assistant preferably with prior experience in a woodworking workshop.

You will be reporting primarily to the production manager and will be responsible for assisting in all areas of the workshop including: machining, cabinet making, finishing and delivery.

Salary - £11-£12/hr dependent on experience
Job type - Full-time, Permanent

**Main responsibilities**

Loading and unloading of the CNC machines under the supervision of the machinery supervisor

Operating the edgebander under the supervision of the machinery supervisor

Assembling of cabinets including hanging doors and fitting components

Wrapping all finished cabinetry. Loading and unloading cabinetry for transportation.

Undertaking any other workshop duties as reasonably as requested by the Manager or Supervisor.

Ensuring the workshop is kept clean and tidy

Delivering finished cabinetry to site, often London, as and when required

**Relevant Skills**

Previous experience within a manufacturing environment

Good organisational and time management skills

Knowledge of joinery design and fabrication processes

Working within a team towards a common goal

Full clean driving license

live a commutable distance from our workshop in Launceston, Cornwall.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Launceston, Cornwall: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
