Retail Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our growing team at Nickolls and Perks. We are a well-established family run Wine and Spirits Merchants operating from our offices and shop in the centre of Stourbridge Town.

The role is for retail assistant, duties will include:

- General running of the shop
- Ensuring shelves are restocked, and the shop is tidy at all times
- Pricing items
- Overseeing shop offers and promotions
- Advising customers on products
- Recording all sales accurately through the system
- Cashing up the till at the end of the day

We have recently created a dedicated area to be used to host wine and spirit tastings, behind our shop. We would like you to be proficient at hosting regular tastings in this new room, as well as in our cellar and potentially externally.

There will also be the opportunity to come along and help at our yearly Midland Whisky Festival held in Birmingham in the Autumn.

We always strive to ensure that every customer who enters our shop feels comfortable no matter their level of knowledge of our products. We need an individual who is able to deal with a wide range of customers, always keeping their needs in mind and continually offering top levels of service.

**Required Skills**:

- Knowledge of wine and spirits
- Experience working in a retail environment
- High levels of customer service
- Organisational skills
- General IT skills
- Good telephone manner and ability to take sales calls when needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Maths skills to cash up at the end of each day
- Flexibility within the role
- Ability to host wine/spirit tastings

Hours: 9.30am-5.30pm, Wednesday-Saturday

Holiday allowance: 5 weeks

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Wine and spirits: 1 year (preferred)
