**Qualifications**
- Essential_
- A recognised teaching qualification or be willing to obtain within two years of appointment.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in the related discipline.
- English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent).

**Experience**
- Essential_
- Recent experience teaching in an educational environment.
- Desirable_
- Recent experience teaching in an FE/HE environment.
- Industry experience in the science sector.
- Experience in biology and biochemistry.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Essential_
- Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in an educational and relevant vocational environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Effective use of ILT to promote teaching and learning and monitor learning.
- Ability to provide high-quality pastoral care to learners.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Comprehensive current technical knowledge and skills commensurate with the required vocational delivery in the health and social care or science sector.
