38.33 hours per week Monday
- Friday 08:30 - 16:30.

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated and caring team at Craigton Crematorium as a Chapel Attendant, with the ability to offer occasional support to the grounds team when needed.

Serving the local communities across Glasgow for over 50 years, Craigton’s recently refurbished building, complete with its own chapel, provides a comforting and intimate venue for a funeral service. The Gardens of Remembrance, abundant with colourful rose bushes are a tranquil setting to place a dedicated memorial.

The role will be varied therefore you will need to have a flexible approach and willingness to learn.

If you are not already qualified, you need to be willing to undertake training relating to become a Cremator Technician, this will include obtaining certified accreditation.

**What Will I Be Doing as A Chapel Attendant.**

As a Chapel Attendant, you will be one of the very first points of contact for our families. You are going to be the coordinator that supports our families, arranges the funerals, and works alongside our teams to ensure that the funerals are delivered at the highest standard whilst also meeting the personable requests of the families.

Other duties will include:

- Liaise with Funeral Directors and Ministers,
- ensuring any specific requests from the family regarding the chapel set up and order of service are carried out
- Take responsibility for the preparation of the chapel and public areas prior to each service, including cleaning, polishing and sanitisation
- Take responsibility for the preparation of music and webcasting for friends and family who cannot attend in person.
- Create a welcoming, safe and caring atmosphere
- Maintain excellent service to client’s who telephone or call at the designated office

Where needed, you will be required to assist the grounds team in maintaining the grounds of the crematorium, these duties would include:

- Supporting the creation of Memorial Gardens and plots to families specifications.
- Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable
- clearing the grounds, paths and roadways of litter.
- Construct, place, fix memorials and subsequently maintain them to the highest standard.

**What Do I Need?**
- Previous experience within a Customer Service or Administrative position.
- Proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
- Presentable at all times, acting with professional conduct and showing empathy.
- Excellent attention to detail is essential

**Advantageous**:

- Previous experience in the industry, though this is not required, as full training will be provided.
