**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Primary Swimming Coordinator

(including teaching swimming)

**Job Purpose**

Applicant must hold a full driver’s license**.**

Salary - £18,000 - £20,000 (full time equivalent based on qualifications and experience)

(There is a potential for part time and self-employment)

Starting date - April 2024

**Essential Qualifications / skills**
- School Swimming qualification (minimum Level 2) (training available)
- Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ)
- Knowledge of the school swimming programme and PE National Curriculum
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Good personal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with head teachers and teachers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Swimming teaching experience (desirable)
- Ability to coach other activities (fundamental movement skills, specific sports)

**Swimming Teaching and Learning**
- To plan and deliver high quality Swimming lessons in line with the current Government Programmes of Study in a variety of schools.
- Teach pupils according to their educational needs making provision for the more able and pupils with specific learning needs,
- High quality teaching includes the assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
- Liaise with other colleagues within Fortius to review, plan and discuss swimming teaching strategies within PE to enhance the quality of swimming delivery.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of the children that fall under your responsibility or that you meet.

**Swimming Coordinator**
- Coordinate with the support of Fortius PE the swimming programme and deployment of the mobile pool in Swindon
- Liaise with schools to book pool time.
- Manage the pool on site which will include overseeing pool set up and pool maintenance (training provided)
- Operate safely within the workplace and maintain a high standard of practice.
- Always behave professionally and maintain confidentiality of information.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £18,000.00-£20,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 37 per week
