**Purpose of the job**

The ALIGN Traffic Supervisor is a key member of the traffic function within ALIGN JV, supervising the design and operation of both temporary and permanent schemes as well as associated and ad-hoc traffic management (TM) & Highway’s maintenance requirements.

**Responsibilities**

The ALIGN Traffic Supervisor will be responsible for:

- Working with the Traffic Manager to ensure all project requirements and deliverables are met.
- Assisting with the production and approval of TM / Transport Drawings
- Working with the health and safety team to ensure operational best practice.
- Pre-design TM briefs and reports
- Operational Management of TM and Highways Maintenance
- Attending and presenting at Traffic Liaison Group (TLG) meetings with local authorities
- Assisting with Stakeholder Engagement.
- Ensuring all temporary/permanent TM meets legal and contractual standards / legislation.
- Completing site safety audits and inspections
- Liaising with other HS2 contractors regarding Traffic and Transport
- Liaising with the ALIGN construction teams to understand their ongoing requirements and provide advice and assistance.
- Delivering Traffic & Transport Toolbox talks to Align staff and subcontractors when required.
- Assisting with updates to Local Traffic Management Plans (LTMP)
- Working with other Align supervisors to ensure works are communicated effectively.
- Delivering and updating Highways conditional surveys / reports
- Managing ad-hoc traffic-related work as required by the business.

**Skills & Experience**

Mandatory:

- Working knowledge of the Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice
- Good working knowledge of the traffic signs manuals.
- 12D Lantra M6 supervisor
- Experience in the supervision and implementation of Traffic Management and Access designs
- Knowledge of the highways / Traffic Management consenting processes
- Good communicator
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Competent Microsoft Word / Excel and Outlook skills
- Willingness to develop within the role and acquire new skills.

Desirable:

- SMSTS or SSSTS
- Lantra 12b LTMO
- Lantra 12a Foreman
- Lantra 12a/b TSCO
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a project setting, ideally within the construction industry
- Experience of the design and consultation of permanent highway layouts
