Akton Recruitment has an opening for a Helpdesk Admin in Durham

Job Summary: To work under the direction of the Service Supervisor and Management staff to provide a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors to the hospital.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operation of the switchboard consol and bleep system

2. High volume Outgoing and Incoming call handling.

3. This person will form part of a team providing a continuous telephone switchboard service within a busy working environment

4. Operation of 24-hour emergency call response.

5. Operation of on-line VDU directory.

6. Programme and issue bleep facilities.

7. Porter helpdesk support (manual recording only) out of hours and weekends.

8. Monitor CCTV on pre set cycle when Security or on a call (supporting role only)

9. Radio response to Security while on patrol or response (supporting role only)

10. Responsible for the completion of doctors on call rota and submitting copy to the Accident & Emergency department.

11. Lone working, out of hours.

12. Prioritise call logs.

13. Responding and completing routine emergencies, Paediatric/Obstetric emergencies, Fire Calls, Child Abductions, Bomb Threat and Major Incidents.

14. Provision of 24 hour monitoring and response in accordance with procedures to include, Fire, Plant Alarms, Intruder Alarms and Gas Alarms.

15. Deal with all calls in a courteous and tactful manner and redirecting as and when required.

16. Liaise with BT, trust IT and Data Pulse on a regular basis.

17. The post holder will be expected to maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

18. Reporting of faults on extensions, exchange lines, private circuits, and staff location systems.

19. The post holder will be working in a busy environment and dealing with different demands of service users.

20. Operation of back up switchboard system, Meridian in the event of a systems failure.

Provide directory enquiry service for hospital employees and the public.
