**Activities and Responsibilities of the Post**

Principle Purpose of the role

The Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) has been rolled out across UK law enforcement agencies. The CAID aims to improve the police response to indecent image investigations by streamlining the task of grading images and increasing the number of abuse victims safeguarded and perpetrators identified.

To protect the integrity of the system there are GDPR and Audit capabilities incorporated which are monitored centrally by this role and also by local auditors in the 43 forces of England & Wales. Travel across the UK is expected and a full Driving Licence is necessary.

Applications are welcome from Police Staff with recent and relevant experience. Applicants should have experience in the field of Online Child Sexual Abuse/Exploitation and/or digital forensics plus understand the audit capabilities of CAID or have a transferrable skill set/qualification within audit.

Main Activities of the Role
- As the local auditor, manage the individual access from the force to the national system
- Provide guidance and training to those local auditors around the specifics of the CAID system
- Collate CAID returns
- Assist Professional Standards investigations and provide over-sight of the national portfolio
- Support other colleagues on the Implementation Support Team where required on audit specifics and on broader questions
- Support forces in increasing their usage of the CAID audit system
- Advise how CAID can be integrated into Indecent Images of Children (IIoC) investigations
- Work with West Yorkshire Police and the College of Policing to deliver training to Forces in IIoC grading and Netclean DI (software operating system)
- Support the National CAID user group and arrange quarterly meetings
- Work in support of the National Organised Crime Command to improve police response to the online threat
- Complete a review of NPCC Forces audit infrastructure (platform, firewall, software) to promote best practice in connectivity and productivity
- Assist in developing the External Service Provider plan to enable secure and accredited sharing of the dataset
- Any other duties that are commensurate with the role and grade as may be requested by management

Person Specification

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:

- Experience at a tactical/operational in LEAs (Policing and/or NCA)
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges of policing online CSAE
- Trained in grading and categorization of IIoC at a supervisory level
- Possess a good technical and information technology knowledge base of the CAID functionality
- Previous knowledge of Victim Identification
- Experience of investigating and managing online CSAE crime
- Recent experience of working in or alongside the field of digital forensics
- Experience of developing and maintaining effective stakeholder partnerships
- Full driving license due to requirement to travel nationally
- Demonstrate effective problem solving & communication skills with effective people and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrate respect for race and diversity
- Awareness of the GDPR requirements

It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

- Knowledge of audit and GDPR or willingness to undertake training and formal accreditation
- Recent experience of working in or alongside the field of digital forensics

Hours of work are 37 per week. This post is offered on a temporary basis.
