BBC Fire & Security, an integral business within the wider Marlowe Fire and Security Group, are seeking to appoint a Stores Handling Operative to join their growing team at the Wymondham head office supporting the Stores Supervisor & Administrator.

**The Role**

The position would initially understudy a Stores Supervisor & Administrator and the position will consist of, but not limited to, the following:

- Ensuring that all goods loaded or unloaded are matched to the relevant order.
- Responsible for the receipt, storage and issuing of materials.
- Operating minimum/maximum stock levels to ensure Company’s daily usage is available from stock.
- Making up material shipments for issue/despatch to Service/Project Engineers on a timely basis.
- Understand the location of materials to enable their prompt retrieval.
- Taking responsibility for the Company’s freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work.
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Material Handling Supervisor.
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
- Completing weekly inventory stock checks and reconciling physical counts to computerised records.
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules - Assisting with warehouse inventory controls.
- Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times.
- Any other duties as required.

**The Person**

Your reporting line will be directly to the Material Handling Supervisor. In order to be successful, you will be happy to work within a fast-paced environment. Previous experience of a material handling role would be useful, although not a requirement. The use and understanding of I.T. packages such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel would be a requirement. Training on the use of a bespoke stock software package will be provided.
