The purpose of the genetic counsellor role is to Provide, assess and plan a high quality genetic counselling service, enabling individuals and families to come to terms with the emotional and medical implications of a genetic disorder within a multidisciplinary team for the population of the former Northern region. Develop and maintain knowledge of the scientific, medical and psychological aspects of clinical genetics. Support and guidance to trainees and students undertaking placements. Manage an ongoing caseload and maintain patient/client records.
