**Due to continued success and ongoing expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team.**

Reporting to the Operations Director, the role involves teaching, supporting and when applicable invigilating learners to achieve their specified functional skills qualification. Your learners and cohorts are specified by your Line Manager, with a secure record held on the Qualitrain PICS, Live learner & E-Portfolio systems.

**Tutor / Invigilator Responsibilities**

The role of a tutor / invigilator has three basic overarching responsibilities;
- Support your learners, employers and internal customers
- Use and promote the use of our quality and business systems
- Support change & continuous improvement

These responsibilities are broken down further into the following categories;
- Safety & Safeguarding
- Quality, Compliance & Standardisation
- Delivery of Teaching, assessment and invigilation
- Self-Development

**Safety & Safeguarding**
- To ensure you are working in accordance with company safety procedures and guidelines
- To ensure you are working in accordance with company safeguarding procedures and guidelines
- To ensure accidents or near misses are reported to the correct person in a timely manner, (this is for your accidents & near misses)
- To ensure that any safeguarding incidents are reported to the correct person in a timely manner, (this is for learners)
- To use all safety equipment or PPE correctly & for the purpose intended. Reporting any replacements that you require to your Line Manager in a timely manner
- To complete customer risk assessments, (Qualitrain risk assessments for the classrooms you use when teaching on our customers premises)

**Quality, Compliance & Standardisation**
- To work in accordance with the company’s standard quality and compliance processes
- To use the approved resources when carrying out learner enrolment, teaching or invigilation.
- Use E-Portfolios as part of your daily work
- Work in conjunction with the Quality & Compliance team to help prepare for Teaching Observations, OFSTED visits and audits, (such as funding provider audits, Matrix audits etc.)
- Work in conjunction with your Line Manager and the Quality & Compliance team to ensure that portfolios are made available for audit in a timely manner
- Ensure that corrective actions identified from your portfolio audits and completed in a timely manner
- Co-ordinate with your Line Manager to make yourself available for standardisation events, continuous improvement activities or team meetings when required
- Ensure you report learner appeals and customer complaints to the correct person in a timely manner

**Delivery of Teaching & Invigilation**
- Make yourself available for team meetings and complete and agreed actions in a timely manner
- Co-operate with the Qualitrain site lead to plan your caseloads to ensure that teaching and invigilation activities are carried out in a cost effective manner and in accordance with quality & compliance requirements
- Deliver teaching sessions using the approved resources
- Conduct invigilation activities using the approved resources
- Provide individualised feedback to your learners in a timely manner
- Provide feedback to the Qualitrain site lead in a timely manner, ensuring that any issues which effect the learners development and timely completion are clearly communicated
- Communicate any changes to teaching or individualised learning plans to the following people in a timely manner
- Submit all funding provider and qualification documentation in a timely manner
- Communicate learner withdrawals to the Qualitrain site lead and the administration team in a timely manner, submitting funding provider documentation
- Manage any problems or issues that may impact on timely completion by working closely with the Qualitrain site lead to resolve any issues which will prevent learners from completing in a timely manner.
- Use the resources provided by the company in accordance with company guidelines, bringing any issues to the attention of your Line Manager so they can be addressed in a timely manner
- To work in accordance with Qualitrain processes and procedures
- To carry out any reasonable request made by your Line Manager

**Self Development**
- Identify personal development opportunities and communicate them to your Line Manager so that the necessary training and qualifications can be evaluated
- Take every sensible opportunity to learn new skills and share best practice with colleagues.
- Make yourself available to receive training on new business systems, policies or procedures
- Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate your proposals to your Line Manager so they can be evaluated
- When required contribute to improvement projects / activities, adopting the new working methods once they are introduced and standardised
- Address instances of poor performance by initially co-operating and working with
