Reed Recruitment are working with a Tier One Main Contractor that have long and successful track record in building and upgrading highways and major roads through their work for National Highways and local authorities. This includes building and upgradingmotorways and arterial roads, carrying out complex junction improvements, constructing bridges and improving local networks for drivers and pedestrians. We are looking for an**Environmental Manager** to join them on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reed Recruitment are looking for an **Environmental Manager** to work with their delivery team on their £282 million project to improve junction 6 of the M42. The scheme, delivered on behalf of National Highways, provides a comprehensive upgradeof the junction near Birmingham Airport, allowing better movement of traffic on and off the A45.
**About the role -**
- Assist in the review of Development Consent Order documentation (review of environmental documentation e.g., environmental statement, flood modelling, noise modelling, ecology surveys etc.)
- Provide written environmental reports, management plans and strategies as needed.
- Provide advice, support and assistance to operational and project personnel to enable them to deliver and manage their environmental and sustainable responsibilities and objectives.
- Assist the M42 environmental lead and wider Infrastructure environmental team in any best practice initiatives and delivering ad-hoc improvement projects.
- Assist in the development and delivery of suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff.
- Represent and promote the Environment Enabling Function in internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums - communicating best practice standards and initiatives
**About you -**
- Degree level in appropriate Environmental or relevant discipline
- Substantiated construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector
- Minimum Practitioner Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects/ contracts in region
- Competent IT skills
