**Role Overview**

DCRail is seeking an ETCS Functional Specialist to join our dedicated ETCS Department. This vital role combines technical expertise with operational planning, training coordination, and change management skills to support the control room, planning team and ground staff during the transition to ETCS-enabled operations.

The ETCS Functional Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition to ETCS-enabled operations, offering comprehensive support through operational planning, technical assistance, training coordination, and more.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operational Planning Support: Assist in incorporating ETCS changes into operational plans.
- Training Coordination: Organise training sessions and develop materials for staff proficiency in ETCS operations.
- Technical Assistance: Troubleshoot technical issues and provide system operation guidance.
- Change Management: Facilitate the organisational change associated with ETCS implementation.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyse system performance data to optimise operational efficiency.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop protocols for ETCS-related incidents.
- Interface Management: Coordinate efforts among all stakeholders for cohesive ETCS integration.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety management systems and cybersecurity policies.

**Key Objectives**
- Deliver updates on key documentation regarding ETCS changes.
- Chart all Planning, Control, and Ground Staff processes to understand ETCS impacts.
- Integrate training requirements into the Proposed approved training centre project.
- Accelerate the maturity of Planning, Control, and Ground Staff functions for ETCS transition.

**Skills and Attributes***
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, transportation, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Experience in railway operations, particularly with ETCS implementation. Strong background in change management and training coordination.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ETCS systems and railway technologies.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, presentation skills, and familiarity with management systems.
